Bladder-type accumulator is divided into the function of storing energy, hydraulic shock absorber, and eliminate pulsation energy recovery four categories:
First, store energy
This type of function can be further divided into: ① used as auxiliary power source to reduce installed capacity; ② compensate for leakage; ③ compensated for thermal expansion; ④ used as emergency power source; ⑤ constitute a constant pressure oil source.
Second, absorb hydraulic shock
The sudden change of direction of the directional valve and the sudden stop of the movement of the actuator will generate pressure shocks in the hydraulic system, which will cause the system pressure to rise rapidly in a short time, causing damage to the instruments, components and sealing devices, and generating vibration and noise.
Third, eliminate pulsation and reduce noise
For a hydraulic system that uses a plunger pump and has a small number of plungers, the cycle of the pump flow changes to make the system vibrate. The accumulator can be installed to absorb the energy of pulsating pressure and flow in a large amount within a period of flow pulsation. Part of the oil whose instantaneous flow rate is higher than the average flow rate is absorbed by the accumulator, and the part whose flow rate is lower than the average flow rate is replenished by the accumulator, which absorbs the energy in the pulsation and reduces the pulsation.
Fourth, recover energy
Energy recovery using accumulators is an area that has been studied more recently. Energy recovery can improve energy utilization and is an important way to save energy. Because the accumulator can temporarily store energy, it can be used to recover multiple functions and potential energy.
